"Because we were building a new home in Transylvania County, we talked with many people around the Brevard area to get advice on potential contractors. From the moment we first met with Scott, we felt very comfortable with him. He was a straight shooter from the get go and we just sensed right from the beginning that he was perfect for us. I have been in the business world all of my career and can usually read a phony or genuine character trait fairly easily. Just listening to Scott take an occasional phone call while we were meeting with him the first few times gave us a good sense of his relationship with his employees, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. Scott is the real deal. And I have never met a more honest contractor in my life. He is meticulous when it comes to the billing, invoicing, etc. He wouldn't cheat a person out of a dime, literally. That character goes a long way with me. (I was a CPA for most of my career.)
If we were going to build another home in the Brevard area, we would contact Scott first. Hands down! And our Brevard house is not the first new house that we have built. We had a wonderful working relationship with Scott, his employees, his subs, his suppliers, etc.
Scott is a stickler for staying on task, meeting schedules when possible, keeping the worksite clean, etc. And communicating with him was a breeze. I could text him, e-mail him or call him and he would always respond in a timely manner. He would usually respond within the hour unless he was tied up with something else or simply out of cell phone range.
And Scott has a great working relationship with all of his subs. We could have a three-way discussion between Scott, the sub and me to troubleshoot issues. Some times Scott had the best idea. Some times the sub did. (Maybe I did once or twice.) The fact that Scott has such a good working relationship with all these various tradesmen works to your advantage because the best idea will prevail. Also, I know for a fact the Scott would pay his subs and suppliers without delay. That goes a long, long way with me.
As far as quality of workmanship, the proof is in the pudding. We are extremely pleased with the results."

"Scott and his skilled crew did a wonderful job constructing our mountain home. We used a very good draftsman to prepare basic building plans for our home, but those plans did not include interior design details. Most of the design and materials details came from Scott. Throughout the construction process, Scott provided excellent counsel on how to achieve the look and feel we were after, at a practical cost. Thanks to Scott, we have well-planned and proportioned windows that bring light into the house and allow us to see the beauty of God’s natural creation at every turn. We have beautiful stained wood ceilings and trim and a gorgeous stack stone fireplace.
The quality of the craftsmanship is excellent. We had very few punchlist items, and Scott was very responsive in completing those items. Even now, eight years after completion, we can call on Scott if we have any issues that require his advice or help. Our house just feels solid and well-built. We have recommended Scott to a number of friends and acquaintances, and all have been as pleased as we were.
A great measuring stick for a builder is whether you have as good a relationship after the house is completed as you did when you started. We did not know Scott before someone referred us to him. Now we consider him a good friend."
